The Cancer Dancer Adds Soulful Healing To
The 54th Annual GRAMMY Awards® Gift Bags

Miami, FL –  Four hours after hearing the words “You have cancer,” Patricia San Pedro cranked up the music, popped open a bottle of champagne and announced to her friends that it was going to be a beautiful healing journey. She pulled out her video camera and her journal and started to document her dance with cancer in order to help others who are diagnosed.

Three years later, this three-time Emmy Award winner’s journal is now a book “The Cancer Dancer – Healing One Step at a Time”, and it has found its way inside the 54th Annual GRAMMY Awards® Gift Bag.

“I am thrilled that every performer and presenter at the GRAMMY Awards will have a copy of my book.  It’s not your typical gift, I know, but everyone knows someone touched by cancer.  The Cancer Dancer provides hope and very specific information and advice that I painstakingly gathered over three years.  It educates, support, inspires and uplifts the spirit of anyone diagnosed with cancer and their loved ones,” states Pat.  “Music has always been so healing for me, but it was especially so while I was undergoing breast cancer treatment. Gifting my book at the GRAMMY®s is my small way of saying thanks to an industry that has brought so much joy and healing to my life.”

Pat was never without her music during treatmentshe took her favorite CDs to every chemo treatment, to her Pet Scan, MRI and even the operating room during her surgeries.  In chemo, she even danced the Chemo Conga Doing The “Chemo Conga” – YouTube!

Her determination to help others with her journey never wavered.  She documented for almost three years and collected more than 400 patient-to-patient tips to make the journey easier for others would follow.  Her story is empowering and uplifting for anyone who has ever gone through a challenge that has rocked their world.

Music, laughter, friends and a positive attitude carried Pat through a double mastectomy, one year of chemotherapy (Sacred Juice) and several reconstructions. Although the physical challenges were difficult at times, Pat maintained a peaceful and hopeful attitude.

She shares those insights in her book and on her website www.PositivelyPat.com.  Her community of followers around the world is growing by the day, helping each other heal, one step at a time.  As Pat always says, “Joy is a Choice”.

The 54th annual GRAMMY Awards will be broadcast live on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012 on the CBS network from 8 – 11:30 p.m. ET/PT.
